Big holiday sales are always right around the corner, from Black Friday to Tax Free Weekend, even to Mother’s Day, there are big sales that you don’t want to miss, but also want to shop wisely with! Knowing which sales to shop and what to actually buy can be overwhelming on the day of. You could overspend, get the wrong things, check out too late only to find what you wanted was sold out. 😱 Let’s limit any mishaps on the day of, and quickly prepare in advance for the major holiday sales, so you get the most bang for your buck, and get in and out of there [whether in-store or online] quickly. Here are my tips for shopping major holiday sales.

Tips for Shopping Major Holiday Sales

I’ve broken down how to get all of your ducks in a row to get prepare for the sales, when your head is clear and you don’t feel a sense of urgency. Then, I have a list on what to do on the day of the sale. Having this methodical, laid-out approach will keep your head above water and your eye on the prize: getting the best deal and actually getting what you want.

Prep for the Sales

  1. Make a list of anything you personally need, as well as a list of gifts for your family and friends, decorations, travel needs, etc.
  2. Set your budget, aka your non-negotiable limit you will not go over on the day of the sale.
  3. Peruse the shops you have your eye on in advance, so you have a clear idea of exactly what you’ll be getting and where it’s from. Make note of everything (like saving the links), so you can come back during the sale weekend to shop the discounts.

The Day of the Sales

  1. Consult your predetermined shopping budget.
  2. Look over your list and pre-saved items. Gather all of your favorites in your cart.
  3. Don’t get distracted by low prices. You could end up spending a lot of money on things you have no absolutely no need for.
  4. Peruse a few different stores to make sure you’re aware of your options and getting the best bang for your buck.
  5. Sort through what you need, what you want, and what you’ll only wear/use once. Only get things you feel really great about.
  6. Hit that “Place Your Order” button and have no regrets, knowing you did your homework and got the best deals possible. 🙂
